Yes! The core app is completely free. Premium features (extra accent colors, gallery view modes, true black mode) can be unlocked with a subscription or lifetime purchase, shared with the iOS app.

Go to Settings, click Upgrade, and complete the purchase. You'll receive an activation token on the success page. Paste it into the activation field in Settings to unlock premium features.

This is normal for new apps. Windows SmartScreen flags software from publishers it hasn't seen before — it's not a virus. Click "More info" then "Run anyway" to proceed with the install. You only need to do this once.

Right-click (or Control-click) the app and select "Open" from the menu. Click "Open" in the dialog that appears. You only need to do this once — macOS will remember your choice.
